Gran Via - Madrid, Spain

Not just another pretty photo—this is a bite out of Madrid’s architectural soul. This image is full of rhythm, character, and a hell of a lot of history. Gran Vía, Great Way, is Madrid’s 5th and Broadway. It's dripping with architectural flair: Mixture of styles: Eclecticism, Art Deco, Vienna Secession, French Beaux-Arts. Buzzing with Madrid energy.

The Madrid Flatiron,” thanks to its wedge shape, similar to NYC’s Flatiron Building. That massive Schweppes neon sign on top—so famous it made a cameo in Pedro Almodóvar’s film El Día de la Bestia (1995).In the distance,  a view of Plaza de España. Built: 1954–1957 At the time: Tallest concrete building in the world! Those dome-topped buildings lining to right of the photo, were built in the early 1900s to give the street a modern, elegant, Parisian look.

Just to the right is Edificio España, built 1948–1953 in  Neo-Baroque/Spanish Revival. It was once Spain’s tallest building. It went through years of neglect but was refurbished and reopened as a Riu Plaza Hotel.

This view is classic "movie Madrid"—the kind of shot you'd see opening a stylish European film. The curving Carrión building with that famous sign gives a retro-futuristic edge.

There’s motion in the frame, even though everything's still—cars, people, light—all pulled down that iconic boulevard.

3. Ownership

   Due to the digital nature of the product, all sales are final.

5. Termination
   Violation of this license will result in immediate termination of rights and may be subject to legal action.
